Brewer's Advent Day 10: Buergerbraeu Alpenstoff

The mountains are of majestic beauty, the air is clear and cold. We are in the Berchtesgadener Land, not far from the border with Austria, not far from the idyllic and world-famous Salzburg. Here, in Bad Reichenhall, beer was brewed as early as 1494 - for more than 525 years. In the center of the small town, right next to the town hall is the Private Alpenbrauerei Bürgerbräu. This is where the Alpenstoff is brewed in the copper-colored brew kettles. Bright and brightly filtered, the beer has the aroma of alpine meadow. The first sip is a delight. You dream yourself to Bavaria. You dream of the beauty of the Alps. Of bearded men in lederhosen and beautiful women in dirndls. Wonderful Bavaria, you. With your centuries-old brewing tradition. We love you and your beer. Cheers!

Surprised by how smooth this one was. Well rounded malty beer.

This is the first beer I actually looked for a favorite button. If I visit the area, this will definitely be a stop on the list. A great beer!

This is a great beer. Beautiful lightly sweet malt, proof that easy drinking doesn’t have to mean flavorless. It’s basically flawless, 10/10 would drink 10 and 10 again.

I got the Alpenstoff today, after having the different beer for the past few days. It was a real nice beer, but not exceptional. The description of the place where it is brewed made me wish I was drinking it in its hometown.

I agree with the comments about the darker copper color. It's one of the darker beers that I had so far. I do prefer darker beers. This one had a very nice head that lasted a long time for me. Very nice aroma. Probably the hoppiest beer I've had so far but I like that. This beer is very flavorful and I enjoyed a lot. I actually picked up another advent calendar box that was still on sale because I've enjoyed drinking these so much compared to the usual IPAs I've been drinking for several months. I love IPAs but drinking the same beer style over and over gets old.
