Italy's Birra dell'Anno

Birra dell'Anno (Beer of the Year) is the most important annual Beer competition in Italy organized by Unionbirrai (the association of small independent brewers of Italy).

Never before has there been so many entries for the 45 categories as this year: 2,227 beers from 305 brewers from Italy, because Birra dell'Anno is a national competition. It takes place during the Beer & Food Attraction (19 to 22 February 2023) in Rimini.

The Beer&Tech Arena will host the international jury on Sunday, 19th February 2023 at 2:00pm. As always, there will be 3 prizes for each category, plus the announcement of the Brewery of the Year, an award that will go to the brewer who obtains the highest score for his beers with the best three placements in different categories.

80 expert tasters, coming from abroad and from all parts of Italy, are gathering around the tables for the blind tasting that will decide which beers are going to get on the podium.

For the 18. edition, the winners can take part in the "BdA on tour" project, a series of events that brings the winning beers inside pubs in Italy, with the desire to promote and enhance Italian craft beers.
