The release of the new app is coming on Monday!

After more than half a year of development, the time has finally come: The development of the new BeerTasting app for iOS and Android is largely complete. There are only a few finishing touches left to be done, then the biggest update in the history of the BeerTasting app will be available in the app stores!

Don't worry: You will find your way around the new app version right away. We have deliberately not changed anything in the basic structure of the app in order to make the changeover as easy as possible for you. Here is a brief summary of what we have changed:

EAN CODE SCAN INSTEAD OF LABEL SCAN

The biggest change from a technical point of view is the switch to EAN code scanning. From now on, beers will not be found by taking a picture of the beer bottle, but by scanning the EAN barcode. Of course you can still find beers manually via the search. We expect this feature to provide higher precision and generally faster performance.

IMPROVED BEER RATING

The beer rating itself has also been reworked. From now on, beers can be rated in steps of 0.1 instead of 0.5. This way you can take a closer look at your favorite beers and see finer differences in the rating between already rated beers. There are plans to make this detailed rating even more detailed in the future by even allowing you to select the exact container (bottle color, beer barrel material, etc.) as part of the next updates. So you can continue to be curious, because the development of the app will continue steadily!

COMPLETELY NEW PROFILE

The personal section has also received a few changes from us. Personal statistics are now placed more prominently and are more clearly arranged. We have also fulfilled your wishes: You can now call up the rated beers per country in the personal country statistics.

A FEW MORE WORDS

Of course, these are by far not all new features: Several bugs have been fixed, the search is faster, the logic behind the various functions has been revised, and so on and so forth. We just wanted to give you a small overview of the biggest changes for us.

Important: Of course, all the beers you request will still be added to the database, don't worry! We had a problem with the beer database in the old app version, which prevented us from adding new beers. This problem is also gone in the new app version!
